Engineering Consulting Technology in Production Engineering Intelligent Mobile Machines

Sergiy Kovalevskyy, Olena Kovalevska, Predrag Dašić, Dušan Ješić, Pavel Kovač

The article features layout tools with parallel structure. It also developed dynamic simulation model that allows the simulation of a given law of motion of platform parallel mechanism and obtained such valued characteristics as speed, acceleration platform, changing the torque on the front crank, reactionary force kinematics of interaction mechanism of nodes. It allows you to make a decision of direct and inverse problems of dynamics by interactive visualization of spatial states of all moving parts of the implementation of precision movements programmed by many systems of coordination of movement. The article also provides the classification and analysis of prospects for the use of automated manufacturing equipment based on industrial platforms with mechanisms of parallel structure. It is established that the use of machines-robots based on these mechanisms can significantly increase the productivity and precision in machining geometrically complex engineering products.

Prediction of Polymer Composite Material Products using Neural Networks

Alexander V. Gaganov, Olya A. Karaeva, Mitar Lutovac, Alexey M. Kudrin, Alexander V. Kretinin, Andrey A. Gurtovoy

This article contains results of mathematical modeling of technological processes for manufacture of pre-production polymer composite prototypes having certain performance characteristics conducted with application of engineering analysis software using artificial neural networks. Based on mechanical testing results, the following material strength characteristics mathematical models were defined: ultimate strength (at room temperature); modulus of elasticity (at room temperature); compressive strength (at room temperature); compressive strength (at Т=150°С); ultimate strength (shear in the sheet’s plane); modulus of elasticity (shear in the sheet’s plane); ultimate strength (interlayer shear). The first step was to evaluate the statistic importance of outside parameters which influence on materials' properties. The main task was to obtain the function of dependence of the mechanical properties from the outside factors.

Generating Catalan-Keys Based on Dynamic Programming and their Application in Steganography

Muzafer Saračević, Muhedin Hadžić, Edin Korićanin

The purpose of this research paper is related to investigating properties of Catalan numbers and their possible application in the procedure of data hiding in a text, more specifically in the area of steganography. The objective of this paper is to explain and investigate the existing knowledge on the application of Catalan numbers, with an emphasis on dynamic key generation and their application in data hiding. Our copyright method was applied, which is based on decomposition of Catalan numbers and is applied in data hiding in other data, so the very existence of codes is hidden in the data carrier.

An Evaluation of Picking Routing Policies to Improve Warehouse Efficiency

Jose Alejandro Cano, Alexander Alberto Correa-Espinal, Rodrigo Andrés Gómez-Montoya

This paper evaluates various routing policies (s-shape, largest gap, return and composite policies) and introduces a novel heuristic called Minimum Heuristic (MinH) to solve the picker routing problem. The performance of the routing policies and the MinH heuristic is validated by an experimental design, varying the number of aisles, locations per aisle and pick list size. The experimental results show the travel distance savings of MinH heuristic over routing policies, highlighting that for all of the instances, the MinH heuristic performs 14,3% better than the existing routing policies.

Assessment of Key LEAN Dimensions Implementation in Organisations from Developing Region

Milan Delić, Ivan Beker, Nela Cvetković, Nenad Medić, Slobodan Morača

This paper shows research results about the assessment of the implementation of key LEAN dimensions in the organisations of AP Vojvodina (Serbia). The study is supported by the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development of AP Vojvodina. The sample is composed of 217 organisations, from various industry sectors. For the research purposes the questionnaire is used as a research instrument. The questionnaire development process is carried out in accordance with literature recommendations, theoretical backgrounds and previous research findings in the field. The study results have shown that organisations from the research population do not implement, neither do they recognise higher LEAN concepts. Thus, it could be said that there is a lack of awareness about mentioned research concepts among organisations from the research population. Given the EU enterprises possess far superior level of technological development, extensive innovative potential and higher knowledge about the advanced organisational-management concepts, it can be said that organisations from the research population are not competitive and ready for competition with EU economy.
